Student Catering Sponsorship Fund 

To support a vibrant campus community, Collective reinvests 2% of all University of Auckland catering sales into a dedicated fund that empowers student-led events.

How to Get Catering Sponsorship

  1. Be a UoA student club or recognised group

  2. Plan an event that benefits the student community

  3. Make sure the event is on campus and catered by Collective

  4. Apply 10 days before your event

  5. No alcohol, political campaigning, or non-catering costs

  6. Receive a catering credit/discount if approved

  7. Run your event → give feedback → repeat!

  • Who Can Apply

    • University of Auckland student clubs, associations, and recognised student groups

    • Faculty-supported initiatives where the event is primarily student-focused

    • Applications submitted by an official group representative

    Eligible Events

    Events that enrich student life, including:

    • Workshops, seminars, and speaker events

    • Cultural festivals, social mixers, and community activities

    • Academic, wellbeing, or career development events

    • Charitable or non-profit student initiatives

    Events must:

    • Be held on campus or at a UoA-approved venue

    • Use Collective for catering

    Ineligible Uses

    The fund does not support:

    • Alcohol or alcohol-focused activities

    • Exclusive or profit-driven events

    • Partisan political events or campaigning

    • Travel, equipment, prizes, or non-catering costs

    • Events misaligned with UoA values or health & safety requirements

    Funding Levels

    Support is provided as a catering discount or credit (not cash).
    Amounts depend on:

    • Event size and expected impact

    • Alignment with student-community outcomes

    • Available fund balance at time of application

    How to Apply

    1. Complete the online application form (below) at least 10 working days before your event.

    2. Provide:

      • Event summary & purpose

      • Expected attendance

      • Draft catering order or budget

      • Confirmation of UoA group affiliation

    3. Our team will review the application and notify you within 5 working days.

    Recipient Expectations

    • Acknowledge Collective sponsorship in event materials when appropriate

    • Manage food responsibly (use recycling/composting where available)

    • Submit a short post-event feedback form
