Our Impact
We’re proud to support the University of Auckland’s sustainability goals ,working together to create a lasting positive impact.
Guided by the principles of manaakitanga, we treat our guests, suppliers, land, and each other with care and respect.
We welcome kōrero with student and faculty groups on how we can further support or collaborate on food-waste initiatives and sustainable hospitality projects.
Our Commitment
We’re on the path to becoming Aotearoa’s first Certified B Corporation accredited catering business, holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of social and environmental performance.
This means balancing profit with purpose, and ensuring that our impact is measurable, transparent and positive for our community.
We’re on track to achieve BCorp certification in early 2026.
Environment
We’re committed to reducing our footprint at every step. We donate surplus food where possible, track and minimise kitchen waste, and prioritise eco-friendly packaging.
Our goal is to source 90% of ingredients from New Zealand producers, highlight seasonal local food, and move towards renewable energy.
Workers
Our people are at the heart of Collective. We’re working towards paying all permanent staff the Living Wage and investing in their wellbeing through financial literacy training, ergonomic support, health assessments, and cross-training. Regular engagement surveys ensure every team member has a voice in shaping our workplace.
Community
We give back to the communities that support us. 2% our revenue goes to our Student Sponsorhip fund, and our Supplier Code of Conduct is designed to help lift social and environmental standards across the industry.
As Aotearoa’s first B Corp caterer, we’re proud to champion sustainability and inclusive growth.
Governance
We hold ourselves accountable to high standards. Our mission and B Corp values guide our policies, and social and environmental KPIs are built into performance reviews. Through onboarding and annual training, every team member understands the “why” behind the way we operate.

We prioritize the use of environmentally responsible packaging materials. Our catering packages are made from recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable materials that minimize landfill waste and reduce plastic pollution. By choosing eco-packaging, we aim to lessen our environmental footprint while maintaining the freshness and quality of our food.
-
We are proud to support New Zealand’s local farmers, producers, and artisans. Whenever possible, we source ingredients and products within New Zealand to reduce carbon emissions associated with long-distance transportation and to promote local economies. Our menu will highlight fresh, seasonal, and sustainably produced New Zealand ingredients.
-
We are optimizing delivery routes and encouraging consolidated orders, we reduce fuel consumption and limit the number of trips required. To support this, we are introducing delivery time slots to better coordinate and group orders efficiently. We are also exploring the use of low-emission and electric vehicles to minimize our carbon footprint. These strategies will help us significantly lower the carbon emissions, contributing to a cleaner, healthier environment.
-
We are committed to minimizing food and packaging waste. This includes accurate order forecasting, educating clients on portion sizes, and promoting recycling and composting of used materials.
